clutch problem help,Hi i am new to this forum,i bought a 2006 90 td5 from new its done 40,000 miles and now has devoloped a clutch problem, sometimes i have to pump the clutch to engage gears, and it generaly feels different as it bites right at the bottom by the floor pan

check the cylinders for leaks if no leaks then it may be the check valve in the master cylinder sticking . if your clutch is hard or slipping then you may need to pull the box for further insp.

You will need to replace your clutch master cylinder...either the whole cylinder or only the washer kit in the cyliner.

I had the same problem some time ago and replacing the cylinder fixed it. Its a common failure I'd say; have replaced it three times since new(2002).

thanks for that,it seems like a relatively inexspensive item to buy,20 pounds or so,i will have a go at fitting it myself, as i live out in the french alps i imagine the serious cold weather has limited the life of the seals, also the central locking freezes up below -5,other than that its great in the deep snow,i have had a bow wave of snow over the bonnet and it has not got stuck,i fitted a kenlowe preheater to warm the engine up in the morning as it would not heat up for 8 miles, and at -12 and below the engine is really lumpy until warm,I also fitted hid lights 6000klvns which make a massive difference in the white outs, thanks :)
