Clutch line piece

Hey everyone.

Does anyone know what this piece does on the clutch line. Its right in front of the Slave cylinder with a round disc that both pipes go into. I have a 84 110 that went from V8 LT95 to a 300tdi R380. I have had no troubles with the clutch for a few years but now it seems like it is losing oil slowly and seems to be coming from this piece

It’s a damper for the hydraulic circuit - fitted to Discos.

Dont have one on my 110 pipe comes straight out of the master into the slave. If it was only fitted to discos as suggested above I would guess you can do without it rather than needing to replace it.

Thanks guys, with the 300TDi and tranny taken from a Disco, I think this was just a carry over part. The clutch has worked fine for the past few years. I am going to remove it and see if it is the culprit for the leaking
