Clutch judder after getting wet

Hi all

A bit of an odd one this.... Does anyone know why my clutch judders so badly after pressure washing underneath, or even getting the engine bay the slightest bit wet.

Any thoughts why? It doesnt half detect the transmission wear, and im sure it makes it worse tbh

Forgot to add, no water seems present in the bell housing, despite it being a very obvious thought that water is getting in. Where?

I'm surprised you can get this phenomenon just with a pressure hose. is your wading plug in or out? Maybe it's just a quirk of the particular fiction disc you're using and it'll go away next time you change your clutch.

Its very odd Brown. It only has to be the garden hose, at the engine bay or underneath only has to get a little wet, and the judder is terrible. Its the same wading plugs in or out.
It goes after a decent run too

If it's really bad it's probably time to start thinking about changing the clutch. How long has that particular clutch been in? If the answer is 'don't know' or 'since I bought it' that could be the problem!

Those are the answers unfortunatley mate haha.

The clutch works perfectly when its had a run, only judders when expose to the hose pipe or similar. The release bearing is noisy though too

Mine has juddered in the past, as has my transit van, dragging a heavy trailer fixed them both for some reason, is yours a td5 with dual mass?

Mines a 1995 300tdi defender. It goes if i really ride the clutch... Bite is high tho

Not had this on a Land Rover but I had a friend with a Vauxhall Viva that used to do this when the clutch was on the way out.
