My clutch seems to bite very early on Freelander 1.

By this I mean you only let up the clutch pedal a small amount and the car moves ?

Is this adjustable - or is it fixed at manufacture?

kind regards

Richard

common fault I'm afraid - combination of:

relatively weak/flexible slave bracket (or.. yours may be damaged)

"sealed for life" clutch hydraulics, which still need to be bled...

Mine is fully engaged by the time my foot is about 2" off the floor. Incredibly infuriating

thank you for your help - I will live with it!

interesting this because i was worried mine bites about 2 inches from the top on a 53 plate td4..and was told it should bite about third from bottom

same as mine 53plate td4 facelift model touch wood no probs and i tow a 1500kg caravan .

i know another 54 plate owner and i drove his the clutch pedal bites few inches fron top but like mine pulls like a train in all gears , the norm test is put it in 3rd up an hill..see if it revs..you pulls van so you would def know if there was a prob...wonder if they did a upgrade on the facelift models from sept 52
