Hi All

I wonder if any you could please help?
I cannot engage any gears, someimes i can get it into 3rd or 4th, but if i try to put it into reverse i just get a grinding sound... But seamed to be working okay up until a week ago..
I am thinking the clutch plate has stuck?
If this is the case would it be just as easier to replace the whole clutch?

Cheers

All this reminds me of my old series two gearbox back in 2005, all I had was drive in 3rd and 4th and couldn't get owt else. I opted for a box exchange on a recon unit. I hadn't time to strip the box as my problem was layshaft related and I needed it on the road quick sharp.

Put it in gear then clutch down and then tow it. Should able to tell it the clutch is working. Or look in the flywheel inspection hole and see if it's moving.

If you select gears ok with the engine offthen it's probably the clutch. But clutches seem to stick through lack of use or wading, if it was fine last week then maybe the gearbox is the problem.

I would replace the whole thing unless bits of it look perfect and even then do you want to risk it?
