Series 3 Clutch dead?

Hi!

On my 1976 s3 2.25d, I was reversing down my drive when the gearstick popped out of reverse and I could no longer select any gear.

Well, I can depress the clutch and put the stick in any of the 5 gears but it makes no difference to the car.

Does that sound like the clutch itself and I should get it taken into the shop, or is there something else that i should take a look at first?

Apologies if this is obvious - still a proper noob.

See what happens wth clutch down and moving the other two levers.
By 5 gears I assume you are also counting reverse?

I'm a moron.... the high/low range lever had popped itself into neutral. Mildly embarrassing...

Everyone has done it, most wont admit it though.

If it does it again, it could be the detent is weak.
