Can anyone help here, Reverse gear is getting very hard to engage and disengage, and at times, 1st and 2nd can be difficult too, is this a common sign that my clutch is on its way out?

only done just over 50k miles, and none of them hard work or off road.

and if it is on its way out, can I expect this to be a big and expensive repair, or is it a reasonable one...

any help much appreciated

Skinpig. . .could be your clutch adjustment, refer to the heinz manwell and re adjust, also check that gearbox oil level as that is most important. . .best oh luck. . .. :)

Hi, it could also be the clutch master cylinder playing up , they seem to be a definate weak point on the td4 at any rate, usually the whole unit has to be replaced, but i don't think its too much of a job or too costly. Certainly a lot less than a complete clutch change.
