how can you tell there on the way out.

They get noisy usualy changes tone when clutch depressed !!!

you'll hear a loud droning/vibrational noise when selecting gears, usually caused by the rear side of the release bearing spinning and knocking/rubbing against the clutch fork.

not to be confused with the slightly quieter moan of the spigot bush, which usually goes away as the driveline warms up.

oh dear thanks is it a big job to change

Yep, tbox & gearbox out job... or lift the engine out...
