When i ghange gear i get a slight clonking noise, had a crawl underneath and checked all the U G,s all ok.rocking the front propshaft seemed to be a lot of play in the crown wheel and pinion.
This is 1983 110 V8 county,so has anybody got a good diff or complete axle for sale?,.i live in Cornwall

Mine's always made a slight clonk and it's only 7 years old. same in the sense we both have play in the front diff. I'm not gonna worry about it unless it gets worse.

I think if i can pick up a good second hand diff or axle its there when i need it.
This is only going to get worse .

If I was you I wouldn't worry. Don't start going and worrying about replacement axles etc. The clonk could be many other places in the transmission.

As a temporary fix in a sticky situ. just whip off the front prop, and lock the centre diff.

But as I said don't worry, a 1983 110 is likely to make the odd clunk here and there as things wear.
