i know this might sound crazy but the clock in my 2000 p38 has started to show the wrong time , i have reset it on two occasions but then it has lost / gained again just as if the battery has been disconected , can anyone tell me if the clock has an alternative source of power other than the battery which could be causing this !

No, the clock has a permanent feed from the BeCM via fuse 1 (10 amp). Ive read on other forums of the clocks loosing time, you can pick another up on eBay cheaply enough, I would just replace it.
