clicking getting worse any ideas??

righ jacked axles up tonight, gonna have a gander tomorrow,
clicky crunchy kinda sound coming from the front o/s (drivers) wheel, if you hang it round a right hander it all but stops till weight is put back on wheel (lol) does it accelerating/coasting/braking,
first of all i checked for sloppiness.. no slop in any dirrection so lose bearing is out of question unless its been tightened up and collapsed ut surely that would give slop

when i had the beam up i checked for backlash in the axle there is abit but im lead to beleive its normal for abit of plat in the drive... they sound different on each hub tho /s is a quiet tap when you rotate the wheel back/forth o/s is a loudish metally tap so maybe hubs leaked... gonna find some spare 80/90 or 90 see if it needs any before i get some oneshot might need to do the seals... even rotating the front prop got no clicky grindy feel, even so like said it only does it with weight on wheel..

i did otice looking at the pads the disk has worn into the pads leaving a lip int the top of them... (wrong pads???) and the slider pins arent the tightest, i mean that could cause the clicking but that wouldnt explain why it doesnt stup under braking or it stopping when i go around a corner

like i said im gonna tr the fluid levels tomorrow, but being good at diagnosing some things but lacking confidence on the physical side i thought id ask you lot seen as one of you may have had the same problem which would save me spunking the money i dont have on parts i dont need (saying that it might not even be what i/we think it is lol) but seen as there is a cattle show in two weeks i need the truck for and a trip to midwales in 6 weeks with a caravan, i could do with some words of wisdom

P.S also tuther day when underneath with my greasegun i greaed the u/j's on the gearbox end of both shafts, and the shaft sliders, but i noticed the front uj onto the axle doenst have a grese nipnip is this normal??

I would lift it up a little and try moving the wheel side to side and top to bottom (without turning the wheel) and see if there is free-play, Spin the wheel and check for clacking noises, scraping or grinding. You will either have a wheel bearing totally shot and the wheel is wobbling aorund - or if more of a clacky noise, it will be the CV joint shot - or both!

thats the thing i did that... nothing..... .....normal just the usual brake disk noise and there was no slop

fixed it with minimul fuss..... was looking too much into the job
turns out seen as it has spacers when they are mounted the studs are rotated round, this in turn places the bolt heads of the bearing caps within the spoke area of my freestyle rims, (where the metal is deepest) this combined with a loose locking nut gave a bit of movement in the rim enough for it to bind with a couple of unflush heads, so armed with a grindette i glanced the inside of the alloy to tidy it up and hey presto no binding, also took the lip off the brake pads whilst i was there

now if only i could get the bloody horns to work`

oh and ill have to do a search on bosch [umps as previous owner adjusted boost compensator now it smokes waaaaaay to much
