Floods and won't start when cold

Ha ha! I spoke too soon..
After saying my Classic was running very well we went away to Dorset for the weekend with the caravan , drove really well on Friday and again in the evening to awake on Saturday at the campsite to a non starter. Spins over well with just the odd pop, checked the plugs to find them soaking with petrol, tried to dry them off and replaced them but still no better. Called the RAC and after some time he managed to get to run again. Took the the RR to Swanage and back (approx 50 miles ) ran smoothly and started again first go after re-fueling. Sunday morning the same again and another visit from the same RAC man.

Any ideas ?

Thank's Fred

Check the ignition module on the distributor. I towed a trailer to Italy a few years ago and had the same problem. Sometimes it'd fire up fine, other times it'd flood pretty seriously.

Thank's for your reply

I have recently changed the amplifier module and she has been running well, but I will check it again because it may have failed.

Thanks again

Another thing to check might be the fuel temp sender. I've known those to cause rough running when cold (mine does it), but not to flood.
