classic engine in a P38?

Hi has anybody put a 3.9 Classic engine in a P38 Manual, would it fit on the P38 Gearbox do you need a conversion plate, how would you overcome ECU/ electronics problems, and the clutch any problems? Colin

There are additional sensors, e.g. Camshaft,knock & Crankshaft etc. on the later 4.0 & 4.6 engine which feed back to the engine ecu and this also communicates with the BECM especially for the immobiliser function. I would say that it would be far easier to fit the 4.0/4.6 Crossbolted engine. From personal experience, the 3.9 is as prone to liner/block problems as the 4.0/4.6.
