When you are growing up in Britain your world is Hornby, Scalextric, Airfix, Spitfires, Hurricanes, Lancasters, Concorde, you have 5/6 Corgi/Dinky Landrovers and you want one when you grow up. Fishing and ladies take over in the teen's, the urge to own decreased but a soft spot always remained. Marriage and children follow, funds always tight but it was a time to revisit Hornby and Scalextric etc once again. Then your 18-year-old declares he wants a landy and the passion is re-awakened. A 1976 Series 3 88 now sits on the drive. You start it up and it becomes alive, like a steam train, dripping a bit of oil and demanding tlc. Tinkering with the Landy is taking over from fishing. So hello to you all and gives a wave as you pass by.
