This has me baffled...
When I pull the choke out, the engine revs really high. Just about full throttle, I'd say. It only happens some times not all the times. I've checked for air leaks and louvers for sticking. Nothing. Any ideas or something else I should check? Just looking for the next step, she's the only car I have right now and she's been good to me so far. I just want to make sure nothing else happens.

Cheers

Not a petrol person myself, but that sounds about right doesn't it? Choke on, sucks in more fuel, higher rpm?
Could be wrong, and i probably am but that sounds right to me :D

Have a close look at what moves on the carb when the choke is pulled. I don't know about petrol landies but there may be a fast idle adjustment which moves with the choke and that may need backing off.

Strip it and clean it.
You might find sediment in the bowl and that can cause higher revving as it restricts the running jets.
Use paraffin as a cleaning fluid.

So i took it off there was some sort, set, 's.... Whatever... carbon build up... And it still happens after cleaning but less frequent. Might be heading in the right direction. I'll have to rebuild again it seems

Not sure about the Weber but a choke cable usually operates the valve in the throat to reduce air pressure (and suck more fuel) as well a small tweak of the main throttle linkage.

It should only increase the revs by a small amount but richen the mixture significantly.

If it revs it's nuts off I imagine the link to the main throttle mechanism isn't operating as it should.

Adding fuel to a petrol engine will not make it rev higher, it will in fact slow down, unless it is accompanied by the appropriate amount of air, simple as that. There is no argument it is a fact. ;)
I need to take more water with it Wammers! :D
