I've taken just taken the winch motor apart and it's all good apart from the isolator where the positive connection goes through the motor casing. Needs the brass bolt with the brushes brazed to tht goes through the isolator because it was damaged and is now snapped in two
Someone could braze the brushes onto a new brass bolt cause the brushes and wire themselves are in good nick but I imagine you'd only save a few pennies.

The motor itself and bearings are in excellant condition

Will post up piccies when I get home

Winch piccies update sort of fing.....(NOT an excuse to bump this thread, oh no)

The motor looks reeally clean with no sign of overheating and bearings are free with no play

This is the bit that that needs replacing......Some hamfisted thug (Me ) snapped the bolt which is the positive connection to the brushes and the plastic isolator that it goes through is partially melted. It's possible it may have just tightened up but would be better replaced.....and there int a lot of choice know anyway :D

Slight melting of insulation on the +ve cable but only right next to the connector which should be covered with a boot anyway (missing presumed dead)
