hi I have a 2.5 dse which when purchased had been chipped apparently but when I looked in the engine bay I found the chip but all it was connected to was itself ie the cables had been looped back round and plugged into each other
Now I have no idea what make the chip is as there is no writing on it so I suppose what I am asking is 1, if they all plug in the same way
2, Which lead goes where, it has a round screw down type plug and a square plug like the ones in the engine bay with the metal spring clip that's pushed to release it
If anybody has any idea what I'm talking about please let me know as I don't

Thanks

Normaly they plug inbetween the plug on the diesel pump and on to the fuel fillter and map pipe, pics would help.

+1 on the picture. In order to "chip" the P38 (as in replace the chip with the fuelling map) you have to desolder the chip off the engine ECU in the box behind the battery, flash the remap to a brand new chip and then solder that back in. I think you can solder in some sort of adapter to the board so you can switch chips more easily in the future. Maybe someone has done something like that with a ribbon to connect? There are 2 chips actually but usually you only fiddle with one of them.
