Hi guys,

I'm going to make a few mods to my disco td5 including replacement pipes, front tubular bumper and tunit power module to increase the performance.

I've contacted Admiral - my current insurer, to make them aware of the modifications I was going to make. The lady on the phone said that they will happily include the first two mods into my insurance policy (at the cost of just over £40), but refused to add the chip/power box upgrade for my TD5 engine (as it increases the BHP :)
Obviously we're not talking about insuring the actual value of the mods, it's just to be all green when it comes to the validity of the policy itself as per the terms and conditions.

so my question is:

does anyone know an insurance company that would cover any sort of (SO COMMON!) chip/power upgrades as an acceptable Land Rover modification?

thanks in advance for the prompt replies

My disco 2 has a ECU remap, complete stainless exhaust and EGR replaced.

All has been declared to my insurance company and went up £40 from last year when I was insured with Swift.

Phone Adrain Flux or Lancaster insurance, I'm insured through adrain flux now and will hunt around next year for a cheaper quote.

thanks Minidod,

Yeah, forgot to mention about the EGR ... got it removed too..

will try the insurers you've mentioned, tried to apply for a lancaster online quote but their list of mods, althouhg impressive, doesn't seem to mention ecu remap or front bumper replacement (don't want to convince them my tub winch bumper is a chrome,pimp-my-ride type of bumper (the latter acutally IS on the mods list :))

will talk to the other insurers and share what they've said.

thanks again

Do the internet form just for a quick quote but phone and explain what it is you've got or going to get, they've heard most mods you can think of.
