Hello,

Just checking in on the board. Based (recentlyish) in Maidstone.

Would be interesting to know any local knowledge like best places for second hand parts etc. I need a lot and know I'll need more.

Tell me about it. We've been here since last October but it doesn't seem that long with Covid. Awful traffic at times. We moved from London so that's saying something!

I lived there for a few years the 1 way system is mad.
Best thing was a mate owned a chippy. So every time I went through I had to stop.

They have a newish one way system now, and its worse than the old one, more traffic lights than you can shake a stick at.
Wheatsheaf pub on the Sutton road is coming down for another road junction improvement, which will make sweet fanny adams difference.
Basically they keep building houses out the back of Maidstone (Hundreds if not thousands over the last few years) and as all the work is Medway or London way everyone has to come through the wonderful one way system to and from work.

I honestly think the best area is anywhere around Bluebell hill, not because its posh etc just that way you have at least 6 route options to escape.

We are no better Tovil side for us.
I plan all my trips to avoid town as much as possible, leave early/late etc.

My mate at Penenden Heath does similar and goes all the way round rather than drive through town to get here.

While I’ve got you do you know any good scrap yards down this way?

My local was the next pub back towards Maidstone. Just a walk across the field.

Oh the other problem with my directions was I drove round farm land to get to most of these places so you may not find them.

all I remember was curry house, trout farm
& Leeds castle

Yes still loads of lanes, a few have been shut due to tosspots driving off piste plus the usual rich landowners with friends in high places!

Scrap yards are like rocking horse poo down here.
There is Mollys in Strood plus another one further down the same road (Knight Road) but they are general cars only, only Landrover one I know of is over Laddingford way, not sure if still there though, been years since I went there.

Ebay or facebook marketplace are the places I would be looking.

cheers. Been looking on Fleabay but I’d like to see something first. Needs must. May have to get bloody Facebook too.

working on that magic number. A pair of rear indicator clusters for a 2004 L322 TD6 Vogue for a start.

also after the bezels for the fog lights. I’ll get to 50 soon I hope and prove I’m not a spammer!
