Check engine light blinking

Not sure if I'm posting this in the right area, so I apologize ahead of time. But last week on my way to work my check engine light came on. It started blinking for a minute and then went steady. I took it to auto zone and they said they Couldn't find anything and reset it. It came on again yesterday. I took it to a different autozone and they said they Couldn't find anything other than codes for a bmw that popped up saying my fuel is low when it wasn't. Any advice on what the problem could be?

Assuming it is v8
Pass. If it drives fine, keep your money.
Does it reset if you take battery live off for 30 seconds?
If it is emissions related it may get flagged on smog test

Land rover dealers used to remove the bulb from classic range rovers.

Any other info, injection type?
