Busy pouring over Series II and IIA adverts as I finally have the cash to buy my first real landy (my car is a Freelander).

Got a real spread of insurance quotes for "standard" vehicle, but not sure if modifications will take the price up much, until I get a specific vehicle quote.

Who do you use?

Do upgraded engines increase the premuim much on a Classic Insurance policy?

Advice on a limited milage policy please?

Cheers,

David

there doesnt seem to be any logic to insurance premiums.
its where you live/postcode and your record that seems to carry most weight.

ive tried a limited mileage option and it makes no real difference in price.
others have had no real problems with engine upgrades/mods etc..
whilst other insurance companies wont insure any mods at all.

generally the specialist seem to do a good job on modified cars.
the NFU likes landys. but wont even insure some postcodes.
try confused.com and
Car Insurance | compare cheap motor insurance quotes - MoneySupermarket UK

i used https://www.1stquote.co.uk/HTM%20Pages/NetCar%20Homepage.htm
and my s3 2.25 petrol with no mods is 1134 a year 3rd party fnf but i am 20 and live in a "bad" postcode area but for some one my age and only just got there licence i was really pleased with that price im sure most of you are about a grand cheaper for fully comp but oh well im yound stupid and i got too much money well had too much no i got none

They just quoted me £168! for 109 series 3.

I got a quote from Master Quote via Confused.com for £100.

Are these quotes for a year?? I want your insurance rates, I pay 1600.00 year on 2 vehicles, plus another 300,00 for the green jeepster as it is insured as a weekend driver only.

i have just insured a 3.5 v8 1968 11a swb with ADRIAN FLUX full comp for £140. This is a new policy so there is no no claims discount.

old people get cheaper insurance and u gotta think about converting the dollers into pounds
XE.com - Universal Currency Converter
I do think in terms of dollars and pounds...generally anything I see posted on here I double in my head.
I am in the lowest insurance range in the country. Here it is based of age (Over 25 or under 25) , number of vehicles, number of points (I have 0) and marrital status. I pay over 800.00 (us) for my Nissan full coverage, 800.00 for my wifes Cherokee full coverage, and 300.00 for the Jeepster just liability per year. And that is with a 10% discount for paying it in one lump sum, most people make monthly payments here.

which ones? where? I am on it like a fly on ****:D On second thought....I would probably shoot myself...one is enough, sometimes too much
