Chassis Replacement

Hi all, thinking of getting a galvanized chassis for a 1979 88". At the moment I'm leaning towards a Richards one. It will be my first attempt at anything as big as this so I'm hoping for everything to line up without too much hardship. Anyhow, on their site, they have a couple of 'extras' that I'm not sure about. I'm just looking for a standard runaround, I have a Disco 200tdi to drop in and might look into fitting 'servo brakes' 'cause it hasn't got 'em. I'm not considering power steering at the moment. So do I need a 'Standard' chassis or one with 'Options'? Thanks in advance.....

If it was me, I'd choose the bolt on gearbox crossmember anorl, makes getting the gearbox out later much easier.

Absoflaminlutely essential IMHO - tis such a step forward

Thanks Gents, I'll go with the bolt on 'member' so, I think that's all the 'extras' I need for a vehicle that's not going to see too much abuse.....

The tie rod bracket is a good idea, takes some of the slack out of the handbrake action.

May as well get the twin tank bracket, comes in useful for big trips and few fuel stops it’s there if you need it then

I got the Richards chassis with removable bolt on gearbox crossmember. For my 78 swb....
Chassis is great quality, Richards excellent to deal with , also offered 0 percent credit which was handy .

Good news, its less than a days work to swap the chassis....

I thought you was supposed to leave the doors on when you removed the body.
