chassis and engine upgrade

Hi I have a 1992 defender 90 , looking for a estimated cost for galvanised chassis and engine upgrade. The current engine is non turbo, so would like any recommendations on what engine would be best suited. Any comments welcome thanks.

Welcome to the forum bud, are you doing the work yourself or paying a garage to do it for you?

Would be getting work done by a garage or someone who could carry out the work, I don't have the time or the equipment. Thanks

Ball park 3.5 - 4k I would think wouldn't be far off, 1500 for chassis 600 for an engine and then labour and other stuff they'll try and flog you on top. 300 tdi would probably be the engine of choice only because there's a few more of them about and they'd be slightly newer but it would depend on how deep your pockets are. How bad is your current chassis?

Yes chassis has seen better day's, I'm planning to keep defender for a good few years so will probably get work done. Thanks again this gives me a rough guide to the costs.
