Changing 2,5 l V6 engine Needs advice

Hey I am rebuilding and putting in a New engine to my 2002 Freelander 2,5 l V6 that i bought for £450 because the owner had driven it without refilling coolant for a long time. And i want some advice
from you experts on several Things. I have ordered all the necesary parts like New WP With metal imp,
genuine thermostate (Plastic one sadly) , all seals and gaskets . This is something i never done before so i,m a greenhorn and hope for some help. the New/old engine has 105K on the meter and seems ok.
Beside the seals and gaskets that are for crankshaft and camshafts what shall i change and what parts
is it necesary to change.
I thougt maybe the oilcooler for both engine and gearbox is something to change or can they be serviced in any way?
I,ve bought all the cooler hoses but is it something i should be careful about when changing them and thermostat and Waterpump ?
I know there is a servicekit for the IRD and where do i get it. ?
Is it something i could change when having the gearbox Down, Speedsensor etc,
I was recomeded to install a tempsensor for the cooler reservoir but what is the parts number for my engine.

Looking forward to responses and your progress. Likely I will be doing something similar soon, but hoping to put a manual box behind the V6.

@Ole Martin.
There's no need to do anything with the IRD while you have the engine out. Unless you suspect it's in bad shape? It's more important to make sure that the VCU is functioning correctly. It the VCU is A OK then it's likely that the IRD will also be OK. They're not a weak or fragile unit and only suffer damage from VCU overloading.
You'll have your work cut out doing the engine rebuild, without adding jobs that aren't necessary.
You are best off dropping the whole subframe out the bottom to change the engine.
I didn't have space when I did an engine change a few years back. I pulled it out the top instead. It is possible but the engine needs to be canted over to a 45° angle or it won't go between the slam panel and bulkhead.

You want to fit a coolant level sensor into the expansion tank, feeding a light inside the car, to avoid a similar problem reoccurring. The KV6 will not tolerate low coolant, not even for a second. It causes damage to the thin head gaskets used in this engine.

Just a quick FYI, there is a guy in Norway (sorry no idea how far he lives from you) that has a lot of K series and KV6 experience.

Hello Thanks for replying . I do have a car lift availabel in my garage so i am very happy for this , because its a lot easier to get the engine out
from under the car.
I do hope i dont get that much trouble because i am just a jeweler and a hobby mechanic With Limited experience .
Some say that this is madnes to use time and Money on , but i belive this car has soul and can be Worth a trye. ( sorry for my bad English)
I am going to get the coolant alarm so i can be certain something bad happens.
Is there possible to buy the cast alloy metal thermostat that i saw and where can i buy this , can you recomend this because the plastic one is so pourly quality.
