Anyone know if its possible to change the output shaft seal on an LT77 gearbox in situ. I have ATF leak between flanges of gearbox and transfer box. After fitting overhauled gearbox it did not move or leak for a few months, then first time on road leak appeared, which says it is most likely shaft seal. After this time I dont fancy removing both boxes again!!!!

Tell the people who overhauled it your going to get your mechanic to remove it, send it to them to get FIXED then get it refit and you will send them the bill.

You can also tell them its done a very low mileage since it was done (incase they say oh its only covered for x miles).

See what happens, its worth a try if it is a recent overhaul - phone trading standards and log it with them, people don't like when you mention that, its amazing the number of full replacements I have got by saying the right thing.

Thanks for the advice, thats next step. Like a pr*t I've already changed input seal on transfer box thinking I must have damaged when fitting - I should have looked closer at oil then.
