Range Rover 2001

We have recently purchased a Rangey and all seems pretty good so far apart from the central locking.

It intermittently clicks on and off, either when we are driving or when it is sitting in the drive.

Any help/ideas would be appreciated, thanks.

You most probably have a faulty latch/lock mechanism somewhere. Common problem, eventually the offending latch will probably fail completely which will allow you to figure out which one it is.

People have had door latches out, stripped them down, cleaned them up and then reinstaled them with success but it is a fiddly job.

I had both front door latches replaced when I got my P38 as one was failed when I got the vehicle and one failed a week or two later, at the time I was scared to even look under the bonnet. After the first few bills and seeing the labour rates I decided to take an interest and sort things out myself
.
Have a look over at rangerovers.net for info on repairs etc. If you do want to replace the front door latches look at this page to see what needs doing.
