Hi chaps,

I've inherited a faulty central locking system with the Rangie I've just bought. Workshop manuals are in the post but can anyone tell me a bit about the system?

Rear doors work on the key/drivers and the remote. Front passenger doesn't seem to work on either but locking the passenger door from the inside seems to lock all except the drivers door.

Question is, is there a central unit that tells all the doors to lock/unlock or are all the units individual to the doors and simply wired together.

What I mean is, is there a single 'sender' that maybe faulty or a door lock that's letting the side down?

Ta in advance,

G

All the doors are activated from the BeCM which also controls pretty much everything on the vehicle either directly or indirectly.
The rear doors are activated directly from the BeCM. The front doors go via outstations located in the doors themselves.
The front doors could be stuck but the central locking motors are known to burn out. Only cure is a new lock. Try freeing them off first anyway.
