Central Locking Problem

I was involved in a front end accident recently and after having the Freelander (2000W di) back from the repairers the central locking no longer works as it should. The operation is as follows:
First press of the key fob, the drivers door opens - OK
Second press of the key fob, the remaining doors open - OK
However, if the key fob is only pressed once, on starting the ignition the passenger door opens on its own. Plus the central locking switch on the centre console does nothing at this point.
With the key in the ignition but the engine not started, i.e. get in car and turn key once, the switch tries to open the central locking (albeit the locks are already open) but the down operation of the switch does nothing.
The repairer has checked wiring in doors and says its fine, solenoids obviously working OK. Could this be down to the impact? Bear in mind that the front end damage was considerable.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance
