Does anyone know why my central locking on 2001 P38 Dhse has a mind of its own. Whilst driving along, the locks will sometimes lock and unlock randomly. Does anyone else suffer from this or have any idea why it happens.
thanks

Believe me, I'm not the expert here- just look at all my cries for help. When I picked my 2002 p38 up the locking was all over the place as you describe. First the driver's door deadlocked with the others unlocking momentarily then locking. I could open one if I was quick before the others locked. The drivers door would magically unlock itself for no reason. An AA guy checked it out and said the driver's door activator was sticking. Coincidentally, I was advised to squirt duck oil in the doors to help prevent future reaction betwixt aluminium anf steel. I removed the door panels and went to town with a cannister and a half of duck oil on anything I could see. I also went through the key fob/door lock synch routine and it's never happened since, The locking and unlocking is a lot snappier as well. The superlocking works as it should and the auto relock also. No doubt the guru's will give a proper reply but that's my experience-none tech. best regards P.S
