Visteon fl5 4cff-18c838-bb 6cd.

Any thoughts?

Yes,

I still have no idea what your talking about.

There is some good people on here but we aint mystic meg or your secretary!
Try a link to the item in question instead of a few letters and numbers.

Then give us as much info as possible about the problem your experiencing. IE: Have you got the manual? have you read it? Is the unit earthed? is it SWR'd?

2nd try: and go :D ..............................

Thanks for the help guys

I have been on forums for other vehicles I've owned and always been made to feel welcome - not judged or ridiculed.

As simple error doesn't need the member being annihilated.

Not impressed

I don't think so - just because you didn't know the answer doesn't make it a stupid question.

Why should I know how to enter a code into a stereo that I don't own. My stereo is fine.
What was stupid was that you didn't specify the type of stereo, and also that you could get the info elsewhere quicker and without being abused ;)

have you tried google make model and error code? dought it easier to ask someone else. have you pulled fuse cut power and the replaced powered up, have you checked for damp fluff dirty on the lazer eye. Kids play station kept playing up striped cleaned lens put back together worked ever since.

If you think that was abuse, try asking something really stupid like "What tyres can I put on my ......" Now that will produce some abuse!

Going back to your original post and taking another look, all it says is that you have a CD/radio which you reckon is working but it isn't because it's showing a code number.

There are literally thousands of different radios about, some in cars and some not. Even Land Rover use different equipment types in different vehicles, and owners have been known to even change the radio (without even telling us).

You asked your rather vague question on a general forum board giving us no useful information and expected somebody to say "Oh, yes, that's such and such. Do this"

Well I'm sorry to disappoint, but it don't happen like that.

It might be better if you re-word the question giving as much information as you can, even if you think it might not be of use then ask it of people who might be better placed to give you a more helpful answer .... like on the Freelander board.

Bollocking over .... From what I can see after doing a search, the problem most people ask about this unit, also known as the "Visteon VUX500170" is about a lost security code. Other faults seem to be with the CD, disk not being read, not found or stuck. Sorry, I can't help further than that; maybe some Freelander owner might know more.

You asked for help and advice, and when it was given you spit it back saying its offensive etc. Surely you would have looked about on here for a while to get an idea of how the forum works and done a few searches for the problem first before just sticking up a new thread and expecting someone to magic the answer to you on a plate?
