castor correction bushes or arms?

The bushes worked for me but only for 6 months till I rebuilt the axle with the swivel housings redrilled. Much better way of doing it.

This is the only way I would do it, if thrifty old rover deemed forged steel for the arms necessary then those sheet steel correction arms are a no no

Sorry to hijack the thread, but do you have dimensions of what, where and how this can be done? When i do it, I agree with Pressbrake, caster arms should be 'proper' not pressed steel ...

I could search, but no time at the mo!

Be an interesting 'How-To' for a project ... hint!! .. ;)

You'll need a mill & rotary table to start with. Just mill all the hole's on the swivel's by 3 deg's, one side clockwise the other anti-clockwise. You'll end up with a long slot. Some people weld the hole's up first & redrill but that's up to you, I didn't & never had any problems.
There is a write up on LR4x4 some where.

Heh, easy as that!! Sounds good, I can sometimes get access to an 'engineering department' locally so one for the future project files then .. :)

Thanks.

there was a thread some time back highlighting broken aftermarket arms.....

I use LR original and refit....
Heavy life or death braking has broken aftermarket junk, I reckon even as a declared mod your insurance would be void if the **** hit the fan.
Add oversize wheels with higher torque loadings under braking............
The forces are massive, ive seen 3 link suspension badly done using the gearbox x member as a mount which has been ripped out under heavy braking
