Ma hippo has factory fitted carpet. Tis much harsher wearing than ouse carpet. It has a moulded foam backing which increases insulation and sound insulation. That soak up water which comes out when yer squeeze it. The foam moulds perfectly int corners to make the carpet visually "round" the corner.

I also have carpet mats ont top. Then rubber mats ont top of them. They both keep foot water away from the factory fitted carpet and easily removed to wash or whack against a wall.

Having fitted carpet with mat's where yer feet go is probably the better option. Easier to clean late on.

Downside is they're not very attractive, mostly black, and the sellers on Ebay are too dear (180 - 348)!

A set like this is £78 from Paddocks, light enough that it could be coloured with upholstery paint.

Its not just any damp already in the car, its any water you bring into the car on your footwear, the carpet will hold this water and more thus making the inside of the car damp, so its basically a lose lose situtaion.

That would apply to all vehicles would it not?
