Hi all,

Hoping someone will have a suggestion for an issue I have with my 09 TD4 FL. Most of the time seems to drive fine however when driving at a constant speed (with or without cruise control), the car seems to stutter every few minutes for 1 or 2 seconds. If it was petrol you would say it was a misfire. It does not happen under load, and does not seem to have affected acceleration.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated....
Thank you.

Could be your EGR valve sticking causing this issue or turbo actuator.

Is it manual or auto?

Could be torque convertor on an auto.

Need more info and ideally the fault codes read and live data readings to help out further

Thank you for the response.
The car is a manual, so guess that rules out the torque convertor. I have not had it plugged into any diagnostics so I have no fault codes.

I have only owned the car 6months and it still has a LR 2nd warranty so not sure if it would be covered....

It's worth getting in booked in at a LR dealer assuming it's a genuine LR warranty and ask them to look into it.

That's where I'd start in your position before investigating myself

I had something very similar myself. After my supplying dealer had the car for a total of two weeks, they finally came clean - it was a problem with some TD4 manuals, that LR were aware of, but have no cure (November 2014).
Mine was eventually traded back in, with a contribution direct from LR.
They did say that they were working hard at a cure, but they had been for at least a year, it turns out.
Hope yours is something simple, but please don't go through an expensive sequence of part replacements (as the dealers had been doing under warranty), only to find exactly the same dead end.
See if LR have come up with a fix first.
