Can't say for certain but as above - it IS a car seat so it should.
Our lass uses her FL for work and regularly has 3 child seats in the back so you should be ok with just one

I have used two different car seats in our freelander. The only thing I have noticed is the seat belts seem shorter than say my dad in laws discovery. I found best method is to pull all the seat out and keep it tight so it don't lock )
