Hi all

I've done a search and I'm not getting the answer I need.

I'm gettin new sealed rivets for my tub cappings but I can't find what length they need to be. I know that they're 4.8mm diameter and I have found them on eBay which state they're for cappings but give no sizes. Reason for not using eBay ones is that I want stainless ones and any I've found on eBay are extorsionate when they have Land Rover written next to them

Thanks

Albert

No such thing as a 4.8 rivet although people like to think there is. They are 3/16". Judging diameter to length would say they are 3/16" X 1/2". Stainless will always be extortionate. Engineering supply shop maybe your best bet if you have one near you.

I bought stainless, sealed pop rivets to put my side windows back in. They sort of curled over to one side, rather than uniformly bell out and firmly compress around the hole. After a few attempts I gave up on them as I wasn't happy with the quality of the job they were doing. Might have just been the ones I bought, but seemed the SS wasnt malleable enough to compress evenly.
