Cant Stop The Bugger!

Cannnot stop the engine on my series 3 when i pull the thingybob out! help please off you know it alls. feel a bit stupid asking for help on this as it is probably quite simple! cheers all.

I take it you are running a diesel, It sounds as though the stop cable has stretched, or slipped where it is held at the bottom of the injector pump.
Just adjust the cable.
