Can't Select L on diff gearbox!!

I have just picked up my N reg discovery and I can't seem to move the Diff gearbox. I have put it into neutral and it still won't work. Is the car broken or am I missing something really obvious. Any advice greatfully received.

Well If Its The Same As Defender Should Be In High For Normal Driveing Low For Pulling I Never Use It Put Someone On Here Will Help But Try High Gear Then Use Gears As Normal

Try selecting the gears with the small stick whilest moving at about 10 Mph it should work !!!

How many times have i heard this one!? By far the most common cause is lack of use which causes the linkages to jam.Get in thru the rubber at the bottom of the transfer lever and give the selector links a good lube.It will go eventually,tho you may need to get the car moving in H to begin with.Good luck.mucky`un

Thanks everyone. I can now select Low quite easily, a bit of working it seems to have freed it off. Now to get diff lock. Well and trully jammed!!!
