My rear wash wipe will wipe but not wash and I suspect the plunger switch is fecked..........
But I can't seem to get the knob off and don't want to butcher it, dunt look like there's a circlip, have had a dig at the front to see if there's a cap on it and the Haynes manual just sez "remove the switch" but howwwww......

Any help much appreciated before I get upset and yank me knob too hard Fnarr

Oh an whats the thing in the middle between the fag lighter and the wash wipe, looks like an LED but Haynes shows a headlight level switch?

Also found what looks like a connector poking out from under me cubbie has 3 or 4 pins in it and is protected by some kind of rubber condom afair.......wassat?

Does yer landy have an alarm fitted could that explain the LED?
to remove switch you gotta take the screws at either side of the panel remove panel, on underside of switch there is a small hole for a grub screw that holds the switch cover to the shaft of the switch then you use a collar which you unscrew to release the switch from the panel

Got an alarm but the led for that is by the heater controls, might not be an led, looks like a silver dome with what looks like clear plastic inset, never lights up or owt, just wondered what it was, just seen a panel on fleabay with a clock in that position so I spose it can be used for various things

Cheers I didn't spot the hole for the grub screw, I havn't tested the motor as the plunger seems sticky and I thought I'd start with the switch, but I might be able test that in situ

Thanks for your help

Those odd wires are i think the standard ones all landys have, as some models have more guages, clocks, etc there so they fit a fairloy standard loom i believe. My 90 has them, and out of the factoy that had nothing at all in the middle of the dash.

OK, getting the switch off, did it this weekend to fit my MUD console. On the side of the (round so no sides, maybe anywahere on the circumfrence)switch is a small hole. This seats a spring loaded locating pin which is part of the switch spindle. Get something thin but strong and push down in the hole whilst gently pulling the swithc It will slide off. to remove the entire assembley, you then have to release the entire support panel (2 x screw at the ends ) and tilt froward. There is a locating nut, circa 10mm wide that needs to be released then the swith assesmbetly will fall out of the back of the panel you've just remived.

Jus back frm puvb soos excuse spelling
