Hi there. I've got a 98 defender which I purchased with clear lens all round. My rear brake lights although they have a red light fitted aren't shining red (white I've been told) and so have been looking for a replacement bulb. I ordered a pair off ebay but the metal fitment at the bottom was the wrong kind and is protruding too much for me to push & twist the bulb in place. It only had one metal connection thing rather than two. Purchased another pair from Halfords which looked right and cost £22 in the process ! but the pins on the side aren't in the right place so won't fit. I've trawled many websites and can't seem to find the right bulb. I've been told that I can buy some red tinting spray and spray the bulbs which sounds like a good fix, but when reading it says spraying the lens rather than the bulb and it therefore made me think whether the spray was suitable on the bulb. I suppose if you can buy red bulbs which have a spray on it must be okay, but wondered if anyone knew for definite. Many thanks
