Might sound like a daff question,

But I'm almost done on replacing rear main oil seal, and I was wondering if I could run engine on front mounts and block of wood under flywheel housing.

I think I would cry if it leaked after new clutch and putting back gearbox...

Anyone done this?

I've run engines on the floor at various places, normally the breakers you will be fine doing that, just dont be tempted to reb the engine up it'll jump off the wood, if you want to rev it bring the revs up slowly.
