I have a p38, range rover with 20 stormer alloys off the range rover sport. Heard from a couple of people you can disable the fuse so the range rover sits at entry level, which i would admit would look better and the range rover sport sits at a lower height. Has anyone done this, or is it advisable to do without causing any damage?

if by entry level you mean the lowest setting it will be on its bumps stops, and will drive awful

I saw an aution for aguy on ebay who can re-program each setting to different levels - you could get the standard setting re-programmed lower

but if you want low - go and buy a max power chav car - not a 4x4

i gotta be honest and agree that all RR look better sitting a little lower. Sounds like a great idea if someone could re-programme ride heights as i would lowwer the "motorway setting so i would further reduce drag!!

Anyone can reprogram the heights with something like Rovacom/Faultmate.

Its NOT advisable though, if you have 20inch wheels and your sitting in access mode all the time the first pot hole you come to is going to spell a broken spine for yourself, or a very bad back and probably the end for your alloys.

If you want to get a feel for how it feels driving in access mode, make sure the height inhibit button is not pressed, drop all the way down to access mode and then press the height inhibit switch. You will hear a beep and EAS MANUAL will show on the message centre (the idea of this is so you can crawl into low car parks etc, especially useful in London car parks that are underground!). Now go and drive around for a bit and feel how bone shaking it is and how everything on the vehicle feels like its about to drop off.

If you want a 'slammed to the deck' 4x4 go and buy an Escalade or something, then you could put even bigger wheels on it and have spinners and all sorts...

Its not really that i want it dropped to the floor, just ridding at a similar height as the r/r sport does

Hmmm, well if its what you really want then why not just drop down into motorway mode and lock the vehicle there?? Thats lower than standard height, it will still give it a harsh feeling ride though on anything other than a perfect road.

If you press the inhibit switch and then press the height switch to lower the car, it drops to motorway setting and then stays there. I use this sometimes round the tight twisting lanes near where I live as the roads are smooth but you don't get up to speed long enough for it to lower on its' own. This helps reduce the body roll on the tight corners.

I do just the same, the EAS cant make its mind up round where I live so I lock it in the lower setting, otherwise it gets interesting when the suspension wants to change heights when you're pushing on and partway through a bend.
Land Rover didn't offer a 20" wheel option for the P38?
Maybe they did that for a reason?
It's your choice after all, but if it aint broke - why fix it???

spot on mate , landrover probably spent millions in research and develpment to get the ride hieght at the optimum level , by fitting larger wheels/tyres there are bound to be fouling issues so why waste your money having it lowered  .
if you want to drive a car with your arse 1" from the tarmac a p38 isnt a good choice  .
