L322 Can the L322 be moved on the starter motor?

Hi

So I need to move the RR about 15 feet to get it off the road as the tax has run out. The engine is f*cked so I cant just drive it, but can I move it on the starter?

Done it many times with the freelander, never done it on anything bigger....

It’s not that it’s an L322. Just in general automatics have an inhibitor to prevent you starting the engine unless the selector is in P or N. And as all L322’s are autos the answer is no.

I'd say push it...

But it's likely both yer nuts would explode trying to push 2.5 tonne

Got any strong peoples around willing to help?

you'd also have to put 'er in neutral, however with it being an L322 i doubt even that is simple

As long as you have power in the battery put ignition on foot on brake move gear into neutral leave ignition on so can steer get somebody with tow pole and push it with another car.

You can put it in neutral by lifting the lever under the gear selector gator even with a dead battery, I pushed a TD6 with my 4.4 and just put a bit of foam between the two bumpers.
As already said, it won’t crank when not in park and it wouldn’t crank fast enough to engage the torque converter I wouldn’t think anyway.
I’m not far from you if you want me to push it with mine, you could just give it to me and I’ll take it apart and find out what’s wrong with it.

We were lucky with the TD6 as the steering lock was off and my mate sat in it while I pushed it onto my drive. We towed if from where it was parked.

If you have another car or truck - strap a rope to it and pull it or use an old unmounted tire bumper to bumper (beware of bumper height differences) and push it. In neutral of course. Slowly tighten strap or slowly compress the tire - no jerking or ramming (I already hear the comments on that line). Use your common sense for the rest.

I thought you had a broken crank, i'm guessing that wouldn't have cranked anyway ?
