Hello all. *****Im wanting some adivice please guys*****

Im having some trouble with the ol' girl...
I have a 2000 2.5 diesel.
Last week when driving along the engine hick-uped a few times and wouldnt idle properly. The engine light came on (the orange light that looks like an engine) but no message on the display panal.
I suspected the fuel filter causing fuel starvation, so i replaced it.
This seemed to cure it. Have done 150 miles since with no problems.

However, on sunday i pulled onto the ring road with plenty of beans and then the engine light has come on and wont go off.
I am down on power, id say maybe 60% on what it had...
No other error messages, took it to my mates garage and his diagnostics could interogate suspension and such but wouldnt allow him to read ECU for this code??

Has anybody had this??
Any body have any ideas where to start looking??
I have unplugged my MAF but has ade no difference...

Pleeeeeeeease, any help is greatly appreciated.:D

Thanks
Chris

Sounds like she is upset and gone into " get me home mode". This limits the power so you dont do any serious damage. You realy need to get it hooked up to LR specific diagnostic gear to see what is going on.

i did think it was a limp home mode, but i thought it might have said something in the display panal if that was the case??

Now i dont know if it has any bearing on it, but it was re-mapped last year, but hasnt had any problems before this.

thanks guys, its good to get another perspective on things..

Limp mode is engine light on and limited power. Get it on the diagnostics. Fair bet if i was a gambler, Number four injector.

meanwhile try cleaning the idle stepper motor. tends to get gunged up so cleaning it can't hurt and might even fix your hiccuping and rough idle.

wammers, your spot on!!

i have taken it to an independant garage in wakefield, and they were great blokes!
(if anybody is needing details of garage, pm me and i will send it to you)

it turns out my number four injector isnt sending any signal at all, so im in the market for a new one.
Ive been quoted £240 genuine from landrover, but im thinking of getting th other 5 either reconditioned or replaceing them with service exchange ones.
Does anybody know any recomended companys for injectors??

Thanks guys, the advice has been great.

Island 4X4. OEM number four injector £149.99 including vat. Diesel Bob tuning will recon the others for £28.00 each plus vat. Does not do service exchange though. You will have to take them out and send them to him.
