Hi I have a 1994 discovery it came with keys and a demobilize system. The demobilize system is activated with a small device with something like a magnet on the end of it and when you touch it on the device fitted in the steering column it then is activated. The problem I have is that I have lost the small device which activates the demobilize system. Would any one know is this a rover part or would any one know how I can bypass it to get my discovery started.

by the sounds of it's an after market one as the genuine land rover one on my disco is remote operated one. I'm assuming that its diesel and I maybe wrong (some one will correct me if i am) but in theory if you run a wire from the positive battery terminal to the fuel cut off solenoid on the fuel pump it should run but if the immobilizer kills the starter as well you'll have to push start the car and pull the wire off the solenoid to stop the engine. Think this should keep you going on a temp basis until you find someone who knows about car elastictrickery systems and get it sorted propperly.

When I bought my 93 disco before I took it apart I wanted to hear the engine but I had no keys so I cut all the wires and by passes everything, cut the wires of the back of it and cross them over until something happens
even the fuel sender had a different wire to it and coil:D:D then all you do is put a switch in where only you know where it is as a kill, Can start anything if you put your mind to it:D:D:D:D

you will probably find that all the wires on the immobiliser will be black so you need to trace them back to where they are joined to the original wiring.you will then find that you have a couple of pairs of wires that have the same colours, you need to join the same coloured wires together. this should then by-pass the immobiliser and allow you start your landy.
