Can i fit a hydraulic winch to D1 v8i

Afternoon every one, can I fit a hydraulic winch to my discovery 1 v8i?
I've read the pump has to run from air conditioning pump? Is this correct? Can any one shed any light on how to put a hydraulic winch into my truck
Suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Mate of mine used to run a Milemarker hydraulic winch on his 300tdi Disco. Think he replaced the aircon with the Milemarker's pump. Does that make sense to you?

Best of luck with it, You'll need possibly to modify the accelerator part of things to have a slightly higher tickover and use it with the bonnet up, (see cooling) (should be in the installation instructions) but the Milemarker is a stupendous bit of kit and would pull a house over, we used it for Motorsports Recovery.
