Y'all

LRO magazine sometime last year did a feature on a guy who had ordered a 130 camper conversion. Muts nuts of a job it was too, not a demountable! Lost my copy and I can't find the company on the net - does anyone know who the company was?

That conversion does look awesome, i am hoping there might be one at one of the shows this year to have a look. I think £38k is a bit steep but it is way better than one of those de-mountable efforts!!

I have just spotted this well priced de-mountable for a 130 dbl cab or 110 single cab. What do you think?
(Well known auction site number - 260227433914)

Actually looks better than some - with les over hang at the rear. Can't say I'm sold on the idea but at that price it would be good for a one off trip and sell on.

just found it the convesion was Azalai from France - also a pic in this months LRO

that it the bee knees , £40k tho including the defender. way out of my price bracket....

i want a VW camper van... i know its not a landy , but ive always wanted one. even them no change out of £8k for a good one

Drove a VW camper with a Subaru engine conversion in OZ went like sh*& off a shovel. Wouldnt bother with a VW engine one, the looks are ok but the reality of ownership leaves a lot to be desired. going by the number I have towed. including Frankfurt to calais.:D

The demountables seem to have more stuff - and bigger because of it - not sure how this would impact driveability - what would the VW be lke off road - do you mean one of the air cooled ones?

Yes it was a converted aircooled one. They have been used off road, but 2wd makes hard work of it. Even 4wd doesnt always guarantee progress :) 2wd more for dirt roads than off road, or wet african/other dirt roads
