Hi All

My 2.0l diesel is due a cambelt change shortly. Anyone had this done recently? If so, was it by an independant or a LR dealer? If you dont mind me asking what did it cost?

Many thanks.

I bought the 3 belts, intending to change them by DIY. Then read the manual/RAVE. Then put the car into an indy dealer in Edinburgh.
The 3 belts cost £51. Dealer cost £229 - Ouch, but at least they're all done now! 98 XEDi
More expensive than 4p 'O' Rings, but hope this helps!

hi TB134
what are the 3 belts needed when a service is done, local LR dealer mentioned 3 belts and quoted £742+vat, a little on the expensive side I thought

I need to get some of yard stick on this job before i hand over too much of my hard earned wedge to an unscrupulous type! Shame I'm not nearer this guy!

Hi Bazzer, the 3 belts on the L-Series engine are:
Auxiliary Drivebelt,
Fuel Injection Pump Drivebelt &
Timing Belt
LR recomend replacing Timing Belt & Fuel Injection pump belt every 48,000miles or 4 years.
You may also have an air conditioning unit drivebelt...
£871 seems expensive, I'd be looking for a recommended Independent nearer you, (actually you could probably drive to Edinburgh, get it done, fly home Easyjet and return the next week to collect the car for the same cash...)
Good luck!

Hi TB134,
Thanks for the info, really need to find myself a good independant, £90 per hour labour charge by LR is really too much for any job on a car
