Cam sprocket

Hi,
While attending to a leak from the cam cover seal, observed a rust like formation on the sprocket. This can be wiped off but wonder how it is there in the first place.

Your views appreciated.

It is from condensation ,cold air warm engine. its nothing to worry about

Agree'd, possibly short runs and long periods standing.

Oil change soon as and do so at regular intervals with top quality oil if worried.

Thanks.
Ran about 500KMs after the Oil change. Not realy short runs but wait on idle with AC for longer periods with kids.
