So as some of the more eagle eyed amongst you might have spotted I was offered a job in California which I have now accepted. Start on 1st May so busy trying to prepare for the move. Anyway I love my P38's and it will break my heart to sell them and so I have decided to try and pick one up when we move. I did a search on Autotrader.com just to get an idea of price. Looks like they are not far off UK prices which is good (see first link).

For the hell of it I did another search for Defenders (Second link). Feck me these are gold dust. Check out the prices. I wondering if I can squeeze a few in to a container and ship them out for a healthy profit..:D

Where in California?

Granted, I don't get out much, but California is one of the most diverse places I've ever been. Geologically, sociologically, economically and recreationally. Plus they have very high taxes, so that will feel familiar.:)

I work with a company that makes In-Flight Entertainment. New job is with the same company and based in Irvine. Did 5 years out there before so know area well. Kids were born there so almost feels like home. Fuel price is nothing compared to here. I filled up last night at £1.41 per litre

Mate of mine over there last year was stood next to his car having a smoke in a mall carpark, this was next to a eight lane freeway. A woman drew up next to him and gave him holly **** for polluting the atmosphere. She obviously have never noticed thousands of cars going past within 50 yards belching exhaust gas. There are some funny people in the states.

The other 48 states on the main land don't admit Calif as part of USA. Like you would never own upto your brother being a cross dresser at a family reunion

Must be a duff place to consider banning black cars because they heat up more in the sun, needing their aircon on more often. That to try and cut down pollution. You can of course have a white car with a six or seven litre engine without a problem.

But the NAACP and the EU world court stopped them for discrimination

When we first went out there gas was $1.89 a gallon. When we left in 2009 it was 4 bucks or more. Mind you over here it roughly $8-9 a US gallon. Problem with CA is that they use a real low octane - 89 if my memory serves me right. No other state uses it so there is always a potential for supply problems which push up prices.
For sure the place has its fair share of weirdo's so adding one more shouldn't upset the balance too much..:D
