What is the exact problem you are having that makes you think you need to bypass the immobiliser??

What's the history of the problem??

This began as STRANDED! posting, but now I know it's the immobilizer I have to deal with. The history is as follows:
I went to my 93 classic last night and when I unlocked the driver door, it never unlocked the other doors. When I opened it, the alarm didn't go off. When I keyed the ignition, all lit up, but no power to the starter. Turning the key didn't even dim the lights (plenty of battery). I checked the central locking fusek. Can anyone help? I live in the middle of nowhere and can't move without the old rangey.I have lots of tools and a reasonable knowledge of wiring etc, so a quick fix would be as welcome as anything!!
think it's the immobiliser, that was set with the key, not the keyfob. i'm getting a batt for the keyfob, but when locked with key it sets alarm off when you open with fob. Seems curious the central locking stopped working at the same time as the key not turning it over. the lights don't even dim when I turn the key!
Ok, I tried new battery in immobiliser, no good. Battery in car is fully charged. There's a loud relay click in the box under the cubby box marked "electric windows" This clicks if I leave the key turned to full ignition after 3-4 seconds, as if taking up then bypassing the current meant for the starter. Can't understand the central locking not working either...
Any clues welcome and thanks

when you say you unlocked the door, was that by inserting key in to lock or you pressed the key fob, what a lot of dealers will not tell people is how easy it is to reset or program the key, if not already done i will get the info on how to do it, going back to the key if its got a push butto on it to lock and unlock the chances are the battery is fooked in the key

Thanks,
I used the key to open the door, which oddly didn't trigger the alarm, event hough it hasn't disengaged the immobilizer. I have been only using the key for a while cause the fob was getting unreliable. I have replaced the fob's battery, but it doesn't do anything.
I'm going to need to bypass the immobilizer if i can't resolve this
god knows how!
cheers

have you got any operating manuals with your vehicle it will tell you in them, not sure off the top of my head on the sequence, its all done with the key in the door,u put the key in and turn it so many times to the right then so many turns to the left, if you are still stuck tommoro i can ask a man who knows

I reckon I will be stuck for a while to be honest. Any help will be gratefully received!
Still don't understand the central locking not working at the same time though.....
cheers
